The History of the Sith

Almost 2000 years ago the Sith came into being.  The Sith is a section of the darkside which embraces the concept that a power denied is a power wasted.  The founder the Sith was a rogue Jedi knight who understood that the true power lay in the darkside and not in the weaker, lightside of the force.  The rogue failed to win approval of his beliefs and concepts from the Jedi council and so he left with his skills and knowledge.  He swore to revenge those who had dismissed him.  At first, the rogue was alone.  However others from  the Jedi order who had followed him in his study of the darkside and believed as he did soon joined him.  As others were recruited the ranks of the Sith swelled to over fifty in numbers.

Building on the belief that power in any form lends strength and yields control the Sith built up their cult in opposition of the lightside Jedi.  Disdaining the concepts of consensus and co-operation the Sith was not an order created to serve.  It was an order created to dominate.

The war with the lightsiders was furious and revengeful. The rogue the nominal leader of the order, was conspired against by his disciples.  Because the Sith did not share knowledge with each other soon they were not only at war with the light Jedi but at war with themselves as well.  In a matter of weeks the Sith had all but destroyed themselves.  The remaining members were picked off by watchful light jedi.  Only one remained.  He survived because he did not forsake patience, cunning, stealth and subterfuge of the Jedi as the others had. He use all powers, light and dark to his advantage.  The survivor worked alone at first but was growing old. He began to search for an apprentice and after finding one, trained him to be a master in his place.  There would be no repetition of the war for power with in the Sith.  There would now only be a Sith master and  Sith apprentice.  The Sith who reconstructed the order began calling himself Darth Bane.  The title of Darth became a tradition and now all dark lords of the Sith adopt this honorary title.

From then of the Sith grew in power as each new master chose an apprentice who would replace him. Sith warriors sprung up in new areas but they never gathered for fear of another blood bath.  The Sith grew strong and powerful.  They are the “worst dark Jedi ever” and are ready to destroy the light.
